Marry Me

Scott asked me to marry him a few days before we were heading home to Tauranga to visit family for Christmas. He told me we were going camping, but surprised me when we turned up at a glamping site out the back of a high country farm. After enjoying the wood fire hot tub, I got out and turned around to see Scott down on one knee. The next day, we got to fly home and celebrate with friends and family.

The Big Day

Our wedding was held at Bangor Farm, just outside of Christchurch, on December 17th, 2021. Scott is really keen on hunting, and we both love the outdoors. When we went to visit Bangor Farm, we fell in love with the deer shed and all of the beautiful trees on the grounds. The venue really went with the theme we had in mind for the day. I was really surprised at how effortless the day was. So many people talk about how stressful the days leading up to your wedding and the wedding day are. On the day, we got to spend so much time enjoying the company of our friends and family. The vendors were amazing and made the day run so smoothly and stress-free.

The Inspiration

We are both very simple people, so we wanted the wedding to reflect that. We went for a very rustic theme, with green and white as the main colours. We tried to stay away from current trends and just really go with what we liked.

From One Bride to Another

If you are nervous about being the centre of attention at the ceremony, do a first look! I was super nervous about walking down the aisle and saying my vows in front of so many people. Being able to do a first look and get the photos taken with my husband and our wedding party made us so much more relaxed for the ceremony. This also meant we got to spend so much more quality time with our guests after the ceremony.

The Bridesmaids

Dark green has been my favourite colour for years, so the colour of the bridesmaids' dresses was a no-brainer for me. When it came to picking the styles, I really wanted all of the bridesmaids to feel comfortable and confident in their dresses. Since all of the bridesmaids had different dresses they loved, we just decided to let them pick what they liked best.

The Best Moment

Walking back up the aisle after we got married. It was amazing to be holding the hand of my new husband and seeing the smiles and tears of our friends and family.
