ABOUT BLAK BRIDESMAIDS

Considered feminine and functional, the New Zealand brand BLAK has been creating timeless pieces for women for over a decade. Synonymous with simplicity, understated confidence & beauty these are clothes made by a woman, for women. 

In 2017, BLAK Bridesmaids was born, an entry into the market as a made to order option, offering brides the opportunity to pick and choose styles and colours to perfectly suit their wedding vision and help their bridesmaids feel their best. 

 

FROM THE DESIGNER

Designer and Director of BLAK, Teresa Hodges:

"Our bridesmaids collection has become a huge aspect of the company now. We have brides travel from all over the country to our Newmarket and Mount Maunganui stores for the collection. The way we have set up the collection is that brides can create and tailor their look in a multitude of ways; styles, colours, fabrications, there is even a custom colour option.

I feel the most important part is that we are able to work to the bride and bridesmaid’s individual styles, and incorporate the theme of the day. The bridesmaids are such a big part of the overall event, and we want to make sure their dresses are perfect for our brides."

 

THE TEAM

For BLAK it isn't just quality in our products, but quality in the lives of those making them. During the creative process, from design to final product, our items have pieces of ourselves in them – each of us who have a passion for our brand and customers.

As a boutique label we are fortunate to work closely with our entire team, cultivating relationships with those who help create each beautiful, individual garment. 

PRODUCTION

We are lucky enough to visit our international staff every year, including meeting with the outworkers such as dyers, screen printers and embroiderers first hand; forever focused on building these extended relationships. It has been important for us from the start to build long lasting relationships that can continue to grow and be nurtured – the communication lines are always open.

Our Bridesmaids collection is manufactured in Bali, and we have a team with a dedicated space and staff that solely creates for BLAK, ensuring we grow together.
