THE LOVE STORY
"Jamie and I swiped right on Tinder in May 2018. I had nearly given up hope on the dating app after a few terrible dates so I logged on to delete it and saw a message there from Jamie so I gave it one last try.
We hit it off very quickly and it wasn’t long before we had a weekend away in the English countryside together for our birthdays and we became a couple. We found we had a mutual love for food, travel and exercise and spent all our money on trips away and exploring new places together. We would never finish a trip without the next adventure already booked in."
THE PROPOSAL
"In July 2021 when we were finally allowed to travel overseas again after Covid, Jamie took me on the longest beach walk in Malta to try and find a remote place so he didn’t have to ask me in front of everyone. I started getting grumpy and hungry confused as to why we were still walking and just as I was throwing a tantrum, Jamie got down on one knee and proposed. It was an easy yes from me!"
THE WEDDING
"We flew in a helicopter to the top of the Remarkables for some amazing photos after the ceremony, and that gave us some time away from everyone to enjoy our day. Jamie and his brother had not been in a helicopter before so it was so cool that they got to enjoy that experience together. The view and moments up there with my sister and Jamie’s brother were so special.
Walking down the aisle I was so nervous. My dad forgot everything from the rehearsal and when we got to the end of the aisle he was supposed to kiss me on the cheek and shake Jamie’s hand, instead he panicked, turned around and sat down. Jamie and I were both left there laughing at each other, forgetting what’s next and the nerves were suddenly all gone. It was a perfect funny moment that we look back on.
Jamie and I wrote our own vows. This was so special and came from the heart. It made us put a lot of effort into what we wanted to say to each other. We also had my school friend who is an opera singer sing me down the aisle and during the signing. It was so special. Her voice made even me cry as I walked down!
Because I had broken my ankle before the wedding we really struggled with our first dance practice. Jamie ended up having to do all the twirls and he was determined to make it funny, not just your typical wedding dance. So we went for High School Musical's “Breaking Free” and for all of our practices I was in a moonboot! This made practicing very entertaining and it was a real crowd pleaser on the day."
THE BRIDESMAIDS + THEIR DRESSES
"I had five bridesmaids - they were the five people I wanted to message straight away when Jamie proposed!
My sister was one, two of my best friends (they shared MoH duties) and two other very close friends who I spent time in London with.
I picked the colour but let the girls pick a style each as I wanted them to feel comfortable and enjoy the day."
